I am writing to thank you for your ongoing support of our school, both in time and resources. Ivanhoe's success is based on the strong collaboration among staff, parents and community. Your support has helped provide our Ivanhoe scholars with the resources they need to succeed.

Open communication is essential to the healthy relationship between school and home. I want to take the opportunity now to be as clear as possible about what is being supported by the considerable funds you raised. When the School Site Council created the budget last spring, we had hoped to retain our academic support in the form of various positions (Literacy & Math Coaches, and a Technology Coordinator). Your impressive fundraising efforts were in large measure driven with the above goals in mind ...

As you know, a portion of the money raised has been used to fund technology and literacy support provided by Ms. Yagi. She teaches a twice-weekly Learning Center which provides additional literacy support to lower-grade students. She assists with the identification of English Learner students at Ivanhoe and monitors their academic progress so we can provide additional support as needed. Ms. Yagi also conducts technology lessons for students in second through fifth grade.
