Spring Fling 2016: We Need YOU!

So what do I do exactly?  STEP BY STEP:

  1. Go out to the community (near and far) and Ask for Donations
  2. Use our list and SIGN UP for the vendors you are going to solicit and then make sure you actually go out and solicit them!
  3. Or ask your favorite vendors not on the list. For example: While you’re dining at Edendale Grill, ask for a $50 Gift Certificate to help raise money for Ivanhoe public school so kids can have art and music and a teacher’s aide in every classroom
  4. If your vendor wants a charitable contribution form, give him the Solicitation Letter attached.
  5. Most important: Fill out the procurement form Attached
  6. Fill them out completely. The more information the better!
  7. When filling out the description of the item really try to sell it!
  8. Bring in the items and the form to your room parent or in the drop box in the front office by the deadline FEBRUARY 29, 2016
  9. Market your items– The more eyeballs you can get, the more money you can get for your items.

Support our soccer team for the Superclassico 2016!

Los Silver Lake Invitational

Each year, dedicated adults from the Ivanhoe and Franklin school communities spend months practicing in order to face each other in a fierce soccer match, affectionately called the Los Silver Lake Invitational, or sometimes the Silverlake Superclassico. This community event raises funds to support both schools, and has evolved to include other local schools as well, including Micheltorena, Marshall High School, and King Middle School.  Please help support Ivanhoe by sponsoring the team or the player(s) of your choice here.

Our goal for this fundraiser is to raise $30,000. Proceeds raised by the Soccer Superclassico will be used to fund art, music, PE, teacher aids, technology, and literacy support at our school. You can either make an online donation to the team or your favorite player(s) or you can pledge by check or cash. You can drop off your donation at Friends of Ivanhoe box at Ivanhoe in the office. Make checks out to Friends of Ivanhoe and write Soccer Superclassico and the name of the participant or team you are sponsoring in the “memo” section of the check. You can mail checks to:

Bach, Rock & Shakespeare

Bach Rock & Shakespeare
Tickets are available in the main office for this Friday’s Bach, Rock & Shakespeare XII at The Greek Theatre.  The spring showcase for Marshall High’s performing arts classes features the Marshall Orchestra, a Shakespeare monologue competition, the Marshall Jazz Ensemble, and the finals from Marshall High’s Battle of the Garage Bands.  This year’s show also includes the King Orchestra and Ivanhoe’s Guitar Club as well as fifth grader Grace Lorey singing with the Marshall Orchestra!  The event is geared towards families and, for those curious about life after Ivanhoe, provides a peek into our neighborhood’s great public secondary schools.   This Friday, May 8th, 7-10pm, tickets are $10 and parking is free and not stacked.  Hope to see you there!
