Wednesday, October 9th is International Walk to School Day!
Did you know, a new study from Denmark says walking to school improves student concentration even more than eating breakfast? So, let’s Walk ‘n Roll! Bring your feet, your scooters, your bikes – whatever you like – so long as it is human powered! There will be three designated meet-up points. We will depart from these meet up points at 7:45am to arrive at Ivanhoe around 8:00am. Bring flags and signs and we’ll make it a parade! We want to make a special welcome to all of you new students and kindergarteners!
A neighborhood that travels to school together = lots more fun + increased safety + better health + more community – pollution – traffic – looking for parking! Hope to see you there.
Meet Up Points:
*SE Corner of St. George & Rowena @
the Rowena Reservoir
*SE Corner of Armstrong & Lake View
*NW Corner of Tesla & West Silver Lake
*NE Corner Glendale & Lakewood
…Just a reminder, Ivanhoe doesn’t allow students to ride bikes and scooters on campus, but they are certainly great for getting to and from school! Bike/scooter racks are located on the lower yard near the Reading Garden.
